What is Worship? How does Worship looks like for us as a disciple of Jesus?

What is worship?

The definition of worship would be the feeling or expression of reverence (deep respect) and adoration (deep love and respect) for deity(God).

It's about showing deep respect and adoring someone which is God.
When we worship God, we draw the presence of God to us and create that atmosphere where God's presence gets manifest in our midst.

Worship should not about manipulating God to get something from God. Worship should be about worshiping God because we were crated to worship.

In this world, every human being worships something, it's about what you have in your heart, what you treasure most, what you are really proud of possessing is what you worship. Some people worship their wealth, some their beauty (body), some their cars. So it's all a heart issue. Where your heart is what you worship.

If you have God in your heart, you will worship God. The way we live our life, our actions, our behavior, our attitude, everything is defined or controlled by what we have in our heart.

Jesus said in Matthew 22:37, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

We as disciple of Jesus should love the Lord our God with all your heart and worship him as he deserves our worship and worthy of it.

A good example of a worship in the Bible would be King David, He was a worshiper of God, he put God first in life, He worshiped God and danced before God like a crazy man. He didn't cared about what people thought about him, he cared about what God thought about him and God was pleased with David.

But his wife MichaƂ  despised and criticized David and because of this she was without children for the rest of her life. She was not able to bear children. 2 Samuel 6:23

From this story, we can learn that when someone else is worshiping God, we shouldn't point fingers or judge them, instead why not join them. Because when someone right next to you is worshiping God, dancing, jumping, shouting and you've got someone right next to him, even he's worshiping God but in a different way just singing. It looks weird if you look at someone worshiping and you're not it. But when you get in worship, it's not weird anymore, it's normal. and worshiping God should be normal for us.

The way we live life is worship. The way we treat our friends, the way we treat strangers, our neighbors, that's worship to God. Also the way we share our faith to others, evangelize to others people who don't know Jesus that's worship. We've got this only tiny little time in our life for evangelizing, telling other about Jesus. When we leave this earth, we won't get this chance, so while we have the change, let's go out to the streets, to our schools, workplace, anywhere we go, let's tell people that Jesus is the son of God and that he loves you and he died for their sins and that he's forgiven their sins, and only if they believe it, they will be saved. They will have eternal life.

Let's us not be ashamed of our true identity, that we belong to Jesus that we are his sons and daughter.

But some people love Jesus, they worship God with all your heart, but they don't have the courage to tell others about Jesus.

How do you get the courage, get the boldness to step out in faith and tell someone about Jesus?
Well from my experience, I was shy, I mean every shy to even stand infront of people and speak. I've got lots of stores. But there's was something that changed in me when I started leaning more towards Jesus. I started having a personal relationship with Jesus. I realized that I am his Son, that I am loved. that I am beautiful. I am special. I am strong. All my shame, just left me and I have no more share in me now. I can boldly approach someone and tell them about Jesus. So what changed, I know what it wasn't me that changed me. I knew that it was Jesus that took my shame and gave me courage, made be bold.

Same as you, If you start leaning more towards Jesus, when you're leaning you're not relying on your own strength, but you're relying on someone's one strength. and when you're relying on Jesus, I promise you that he will never move aide and let you fall or stumble, but instead he will hold you firmly. He will remove all your shame, your guiltiness, and he will fill you with your Holy Spirit, and when the Holy Spirit fill you, all other spirit has to leave. When you have the Holy Spirit in you, you can't just keep quiet, you will have to speak out, because the Holy Spirit in you will start burning inside of you, you just have it let it out.

And when you let the Holy Spirit do it's work in you, things starts to change in and around you. You'll start to see sings and wonders, miracles starts to happen.

So when the Holy Spirit fills you, evangelism becomes second nature for you. Cause you can't contain what's inside of you which is the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit wants to come out of you.

In John 4:24, it says, God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.

True worship is about worshiping God completely surrendering our heart to God, not holding anything back. Worshiping and singing songs with a pure heart, truthful heart, when we
